Dear Troop 460 Family,

 

Once again it’s time to register both Scouts and adult leaders with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) for 2010.  Unfortunately, registration fees have been increased by the BSA National Executive Board, and the Troop Committee has found it necessary to increase the Scout and adult leader dues to cover the loss of one of our past major fundraising sources.  The fees for the upcoming year (covers all troop dues, registration, and insurance) are:

·         $75.00 for Scouts that want to receive Boys Life magazine 

·         $63.00 for Scouts that do not want to receive Boys Life magazine

·         $40.00 for adult leaders

·         $24.00 for adult leaders with primary registration in another unit

 

Please make checks payable to “Troop 460.”   Please send payment and the enclosed forms to me, or hand them to me at a Troop meeting as soon as possible.  The deadline is November 16, 2009, so I can get the charter paperwork completed and turned in on time. 

 

We also need a form with information from all drivers and vehicles used for Scouting events, including insurance coverage limits at or above the State minimum.  Please complete and return to me the enclosed form with your driver, vehicle, and insurance information.      

 

Carroll District is also requiring that all merit badge counselors complete a new adult application and merit badge form this year.  There is no registration fee to be a merit badge counselor.  All adults are encourage to sign up as a counselor and are encouraged to pick several merit badges to help our Scouts. The merit badge form and a new leader application are also included (position code is “42” for a merit badge counselor).  Don’t forget to sign the disclosure authorization portion of the form to allow a background check.
